Brought to you by too much purchasing power.

So, I used to do this quaint little thing called blogging many years ago. I had a LiveJournal account (have if we are getting technical) where I documented the full blown and cliche angst of my teenage years. Then Facebook sprung into being and blogging in terse, occasionally clever snippets called "status updates" forced LJ the way of the Dodo. At least for me and mine. There's a strange thing that happens when you're hot on the heels of your thirties. You try to master a balancing act between your mature, worldly, adult self and the vibrant and chaotic unicorn you viewed yourself as when you were a young thing. You feel an intense need to simultaneously fear the future and embrace the trappings of yesteryear. So back to blogging it is.
I've fallen prey to the subscription box addiction, as so many comrades before me. It started with Nature Box, then Loot Crate, and quickly spiraled into something I can no longer avoid or control. I only know that, like a too-juicy-secret, I must spread the mystery box virus to those around me at whatever cost. Reviewing the boxes I receive seems like a perfect jumping off point to get back in the habit of blogging. I know I'll have other experiences and thoughts along the way, but it's good to start on the bunny hill before throwing myself off a cliff.
Husband and I received our March Loot Crate this week and he texted me earlier to say I'd received my first ever Julep box today. With a little luck and a lot of liquid encouragement I'll actually stick to it and get some writing done.
